Reporting to the Manager, OMERS Capital Market IT, the Application Support Analyst is responsible for supporting OMERS Capital Markets and Investment, Operations, & Application teams and users assuming a wide range of activities and responsibilities ranging from technical aspects of understanding, installing, configuring, maintain and supporting base systems, tools and client side technology, to specific investment solutions and business processes. The role will be required to build and maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure clients have reliable and highly available working environments and services.

The Application Support Analyst is required to perform in a team-oriented environment and contribute significantly to the goals of the OMERS Capital Markets and Investment Operations & Applications division by providing consistently high quality services and proactive support. Excellent customer service, interaction and communication skills as well as ability to perform in a high paced, deadline driven environment is a must.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

• Act as the on-site point of contact for all client-side technical inquiries for OMERS Capital Markets and Investment, Operations, & Application Support teams.
• Work with internal and external teams to guarantee quality delivery of the related services and data
• Perform installations, configurations and provide technical support for all client side technology, business tools, Service Bureau Applications and solutions
• Assume responsibility for troubleshooting and liaise with relevant parties (OCM and IOA teams and users, external vendors, internal firm IT staff) to ensure timely resolution for issues ranging from:
o Hardware (workstations, communication equipment – Turret, blade workstations, laptops, Smartphones, Projectors)
o Off-the-shelf OS, technology and software (Windows, Active Directory, SCCM, MS Office, Adobe)
o Investment specific technology solutions (Bloomberg Terminals, Turret phone system)
o Business specific client software (Trading Management, Portfolio Management and Execution Management Systems)
o Connectivity matters
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external vendors with specific focus around managing OMERS Capital Markets production environment
• Actively participate in Corporate BCP/DR planning and execution processes with respect to specific OCM and IOA needs and requirements
• Accountable to ensure any new workstation image is in full compliance with all currently used investments tools, utilities and systems
• Work with OMERS IT teams, test and manage delivery of MSI and upgrade packages for all technology or investment specific tools to ensure full compatibility and transparent deployment to clients
• Directly responsible for dealing with all Service Bureau and market data application licenses and application governance.
• Contribute to the research, evaluation, selection, testing and implementation of new hardware and Investment Systems technology.
• Maintain OMERS Change Management System in timely manner for all change, problem or incident tickets related to OCM Capital Market IT group
• Create and maintain documentation for all supported technology platforms and applications
• Works constantly to broaden knowledge, learn new things and adapts to a dynamic and evolving technical
and business investment environment
• PLEASE NOTE: This role may require some work to be performed outside regular business hours including evenings, nights and weekends for troubleshooting and implementation purposes

To succeed in this role, you:

• College or university program in Computer Science or other information systems discipline will be considered.
• 3 years of relevant IT experience. Experience in Capital Markets as well as working in a trading room environment supporting market data applications and systems considered an asset
• Familiarity with investments industry terminology
• Familiarity with Bloomberg Client Technologies is an asset
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office products
• Working knowledge and understanding of various network architecture components (i.e. TCPIP, Windows Domains and Active Directory concepts, DNS servers, switches, routers, print servers, etc.)
• Experience managing business critical incidents
• Analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technical issues and recommend solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to deal with users of varying levels of technology expertise
• Organizational skills to prioritize work and track the status of multiple activities
• Demonstrated experience in working effectively with clients, management, external application and data providers
