Working closely with the Specialty Leasing and Marketing teams, the Sponsorship & Activations role will manage and develop relationships that will maximize income and partnership marketing opportunities.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

• Working with Yorkdale’s Specialty Leasing (SL) Manager, identify / create, target and sell partnership / sponsorship opportunities that will support Yorkdale’s objectives of providing a superior customer experience and contributing positively to net operating income to the portfolio.
• Assist SL Manager with developing relationships with brand and agency partners to utilize Yorkdale as part of their brand and marketing activation and sponsorship programs.
• Assist SL Manager with growing and developing new income opportunities in the areas of sponsorship, local static media, short term and seasonal pop up shops and activations.
• Stay abreast of pertinent industry trends; assist with looking for opportunities to develop strategic programming in alignment with these trends.
• Supervise and plan logistics of SL Activity, including Brand Activations, Pop-Up and Sponsorships.
• With SL Manager, work closely with Marketing team to execute programs with mutual objectives.
• Coordinate the communication of new and existing deals, tenant site visits, documentation, including alignment with Retail Legal as required.
• Assessing effective launches and tear-downs of SL activations in common areas and in-line units. Maintain scorecards, accurate inventory and tracking reports for SL categories, and up to date client files
• Ensure payments, insurance and all required documents to operate are received in advance of start date.
• Provide accounting department with SL accounts back up, variance explanation.
• Assist the SL Manager with reforecasts and annual SL budget information.

To succeed in this role, you:

• Post-secondary degree with a Marketing, Communications, or Business major.
• Minimum of five years direct experience of Agency sales and partnership experience. Shopping Centre Specialty Leasing and Marketing experience is an asset.
• Strong computer skills including all MS Office applications (word, excel, PPT).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication and proven presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker and proactive.
