We are looking for a highly motivated corporate commercial lawyer to join Oxford’s real estate management legal team in Toronto.

You will be a key member of a highly engaged, professional legal team and part of a world-class, winning culture that prioritizes people development and focuses on long-term growth.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

• Review and negotiate various commercial service and supply contracts and work closely with our national programs team responsible for innovation, sustainability and building operations for Oxford’s office and retail portfolios in Canada
• Supervise and mentor contract administrators and law clerks on the negotiation and drafting of various operational contracts
• Review and negotiate contracts and agreements and advise business teams on a variety of matters including operational issues, communication, marketing and construction
• Manage external counsel in relation to litigation files, bankruptcy and other matters and advise and assist internal departments on such matters
• Provide advice on legislative matters governing a real estate management company
• Provide services and advice in relation to various other matters as required from time to time.

To succeed in this role, you:

• Minimum one (1) to five (5) years of commercial real estate experience gained in a law firm or in-house position
• Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
• Self-directed, initiative and goal oriented
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent drafting skills
• Exceptional organizational skills; multi-tasking; ability to self-manage competing priorities; meet tight deadlines and attention to detail and accuracy
• Desire to be part of a legal team, who can also work independently with little direction or supervision, and possess the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects, and interact confidently and easily with business teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills both oral and written to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
