OMERS Capital Markets is ‎seeking an experienced Equities Analyst to join our Global Equities team in Toronto. This candidate will demonstrate a passion and commitment to fundamental investing and brings experience covering a variety of sectors. The Principal, Global Equities has broad market experience combined with strong knowledge of capital markets, asset management or equity research. The Global Equities team currently manages over $15 billion on behalf of OMERS current and future retirees. Utilizing a long-term, research-driven investment approach, our investment professionals search globally for attractive investment opportunities in the public equity markets that fit our Quality, Income and Opportunistic portfolio mandates.

• Identifying and recommending investment ideas to be included in portfolios
• Conducting industry and company analysis, leveraging various internal and external resources to generate insights and provide actionable recommendations
• Developing a deep understanding of secular trends and their impact on the industry
• Generating business valuations by combining financial analysis and insights from management meetings
• Fostering relationships with corporate management teams and other market participants
• Sharing information and insights across Capital Markets to deliver the best outcomes for the pension plan

To succeed in this role, you:

• Possess a minimum 8 years of investment experience; understanding of capital markets; experience across asset classes
• Are a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or in the process of obtaining your CFA
• Bring excellent analytical skills with the ability to distinguish between signal and noise when processing information; ability to generate insights
• Have experience covering Global Health Care and/or Global Consumer sectors (an asset)
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and Bloomberg
• Commit to learning and are intellectually curious, with a demonstrated passion for investing
• Are a self-starter with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail that complements your ability to see the big picture
• Prioritize competing tasks while delivering high quality products within deadlines
• Produce clear, logical and convincing arguments and explain complex ideas simply
• Bring excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to be a team player
